June is coming to an end, and as I reflect on the month, I want to share my recap of the books I have read this month. I will be honest, they were all good; however, some truly stood out. Each story brought its own unique flavor, transporting me to different worlds and introducing me to different characters. Check out my breakdown and ratings below, as I highlight the aspects I loved about each book.
The Academy
I’ve read several of Elin Hilderbrand’s books over the years, and this one stands out, especially since she co-wrote it with her daughter. I absolutely loved it! If you enjoyed Gossip Girl, you’ll find this just as captivating. Set in a New England boarding school, it’s packed with all the essential drama, gossip, and an array of privileged kids. This book has a fresh vibe that differentiates it from her previous works, and that ending? It leaves you guessing! I’m eagerly anticipating the sequel, The Thoroughbreds!

The Daisy Chain Flower Shop
As book #6 in the Dream Harbor Series, Laurie Gilmore confidently delivers a charming and uplifting novel that offers an effortless reading experience and leaves you feeling delighted and optimistic. While I appreciated the book, I must acknowledge that it hasn’t quite topped my favorites in the Dream Harbor Series. If you’re seeking a light, feel-good story that evokes the spirit of the beloved show Gilmore Girls, this book is sure to resonate with you.

It’s Not Her
This psychological thriller by Mary Kubica masterfully keeps you guessing until the very end, and even then, you’ll find yourself surprised. After reading this novel, you’ll think twice about your next camping trip.

This Summer Will Be Different

The Deal
Don’t even pretend you haven’t heard of the hit show Off Campus. The Deal is the first book in the Elle Kennedy series that’s been transformed into this popular series. The book and the show share striking similarities, and I absolutely adore both. If you’re not familiar, the book masterfully combines romance, friendship, and just the right amount of spice!

The Wedding People
This was absolutely my favorite read of June! I thoroughly enjoyed the dark humor, the captivating storyline, and the diverse characters, all of whom brought immense entertainment. Alison Espach masterfully delves into themes of grief, depression, self-discovery, and societal norms. I could go on and on about this book, however, I do not want to reveal a single detail!
