When Treehouse Dreams…

My family and I spent an unforgettable Memorial Day weekend camping and taking advantage of the most enchanting little treehouse in Machipongo, VA. This idyllic hideaway, affectionately known as The Waverly Treehouse, is beautifully tucked away in the woods, offering a breathtaking view of Hungar’s Creek.
The Inside
The custom-built treehouse is truly a magical retreat, designed to immerse you in the embrace of nature. It offers an enchanting little loft area featuring a queen-size bed, complemented by a cozy futon in the sitting area. It includes a delightful full-size bathroom and a quaint kitchen area, complete with a microwave, sink, and minifridge, perfect for making small snacks and meals. The thoughtful hosts have even curated an array of board games, ensuring every moment spent here is filled with joy and laughter.
The Outside
The outside area offers the perfect setting, ideal for basking in the warmth of a summer day or evening. The treehouse is surrounded by a cozy, lighted seating area that invites you to gather around the propane fire pit to relax or socialize, with the picnic table for shared meals. A few additional steps from the seating area will lead you to a serene hammock and a private dock, complete with a propane grill and lounge chairs. The perfect spot for lazy afternoons or dock fishing. As you explore further down the shoreline, you’ll stumble upon a sandy nook, where two kayaks await, ideal for exploring the waters of Hungar’s Creek. Guests are able to make full use of the woods surrounding the treehouse, the personal dock, community dock, and the treehouse’s golfcart.

An added bonus is that this enchanting treehouse is a mere 12 miles from the magical town of Cape Charles, Va. If you are unaware, Cape Charles is a charming beach town located on the eastern shore of Va. It boasts an awe-inspiring shoreline, a delightful local brewery, a captivating distillery, and an array of incredible dining experiences.
