DIY Kid’s Valentine’s Day Card

Creating a personalized Valentine’s Day card with kids is so much fun! It’s the perfect way for them to show off their creative side and share some love with their friends. DIY cards are awesome because they’re totally unique and way more fun than store bought ones!

This year, me and my youngest decided to make Valentine’s Day cards for all her classmates. We went for Valentine’s Day themed paint sets – super quick, super easy, and super cute!

Check out our simple guide on how we made them and where to get all the supplies you need.

Supplies

  1. Watercolor Paint Set
  2. Ribbon
  3. Mini Canvas
  4. Construction Paper
  5. Hole Puncher
  6. Scissors

Instructions:

  1. Gather Supplies:
    • Once you have gathered all of the supplies listed above, you are officially ready to get started.
  2. Personalized Cards:
    • I created a personalized card for each paint set by using a simple template I found on Canva. There are many free templates to choose from and you can easily customize them with your child’s name. To give each card a “pop” of color, my daughter and I used a glue stick to attach red construction paper to the back of each card. After allowing each card to dry, we punched a single hole in the top right corner, which would later be used to thread ribbon.
  3. Tying It Together:
    • In order to tie everything together, we stacked the watercolor paint and mini canvas and tied them together. Once everything was tied together, we then threaded the ribbon through the punched hole and created a bow.
  4. Finishing Touches:
    • To finalize the DIY cards, we made sure there were no frayed ribbon pieces and that each card was tightly tied.
