Some of the most spectacular birds can be seen from atop the lodge deck. Fresh fruit can be found hanging from the lodge’s birdfeeder daily. During your birdwatching, you may see some of the following – Bellbirds, Crestonian Guans, Orange-bellied Trogon, White Hawk, Laughing Hawk, Red Parrots, Green Herons, Ruby-throated Hummingbirds, and Chestnut-jawed Toucans.
Flowers & Plant Life
Costa Rica is home to some of the world’s most beautiful flowers and plants. Various species of plants can be found along the various trails throughout Arenal Observatory and Lodge.

There are 7 official trails to explore within the reserve with several hanging bridges.

The 7 trails include: Danta Waterfall (1hr), La Culebra (20min), Saino (30min), La Hormiga (45min), River Trail (30min), Los Monos (30min), and Los Cangrejos (2hr).
Capture the True Essence of Wildlife.
The Nest
Located on the reserve is a 90-foot tall tower called “The Nest.” The observatory tower rises high above Arenal Observatory Lodge & Trails, giving you a 360 degree view of the breathtaking reserve.

Among the myriad of destinations I had the privilege to explore, none captured my heart quite like the breathtaking Arenal Observatory Lodge & Trails. Let me tell you, Arenal is the epitome of everything I envisioned Costa Rica to be! From the moment I set foot in this earthly paradise, I fell in love with its unrivaled beauty and awe-inspiring landscapes. The memories of my time there, forever etched in my heart and soul, are a testament to the pure bliss and sheer magic that Costa Rica has to offer. So, until next time my beauty, Pura Vida!
